Mixed Use Housing

Located in Cincinnati Ohio this housing consists of 4 main structures connected by horizontal circulation throughout the backside of the building. The backside is rigid in order to mimic the landscape of the city behind and in order to connect the riverfront on the other side, the four structures are shifted to create a curve that frames the riverfront.

Use of solid void motif signifies the different use of spaces from outside the building. Each structure has open areas closed off by solid glazing which are the commercial spaces. These consist of a restaurant and admin area on the first floor which would allow guests to access the restaurant without having full access to all the apartments. Moving upward there is a gym, pool, and studio space along with a recreation area further above.

The notable facade covering all residential spaces facing the riverfront is a movable perforated metal which allows for privacy and adjustable shading from the sun.
